Your tabs are work.
Never lose them.
TabHarbor saves tabs and tab groups in one click, keeps a versioned history, and exports recovery files to disk — so crashes, cleanup, reinstalls, or extension failures never cost you your work. Local-first, free for 14 days on install; encrypted cloud sync across your devices is coming with Premium.
Coming to the Chrome Web Store · 14-day free trial, no card, no account · restore & export free forever
One crash and the context is gone
A hundred open tabs is a hundred open loops — research, tasks, half-finished reading you can't afford to lose. One crash, one accidental close, one profile reset, and it's gone. Bookmarks don't help; they're a graveyard you never revisit.
Save it, clean up, get it back
The whole product is one promise: your browser context survives.
One-click save & close
Click the toolbar icon to save and close a tab — or a whole tab group, colour and all — and reopen it whenever you want.
Park & Forget
Save every window, group, and tab at once, then start with a clean browser. Restore the exact set later — nothing lost.
Nothing lost by accident
You can never remove an item from your active list by mistake. Delete-forever lives only in the Archive, behind a confirm.
Versioned snapshots
Point-in-time history with one-click rollback, and an automatic snapshot taken before any restore.
Find anything
Search, group by date or domain, and tag groups with chips — built to make hundreds of saved tabs navigable.
Import from anywhere
Bring tabs in from OneTab, your browser bookmarks, Toby, or Session Buddy — TabHarbor detects the format. Always free.
Find duplicate tabs
One click finds duplicate open tabs across every window and closes the extras — keeping one of each, and never your pinned tabs.
Backed up to disk
Export a full recovery file — JSON or a Chrome-compatible bookmark HTML — to a folder you control, so your tabs outlive the browser profile itself.
See it work
Real TabHarbor — recorded from the live extension, no mockups.
Click Restore and your whole group of tabs opens back up — exactly as you left it.
Real backups, not just a list
Most tab tools keep everything in one place that dies with your browser profile. TabHarbor keeps copies outside the extension — on disk, in a folder you choose — each surviving the failure of the one before it.
| Layer | What it is | Survives |
|---|---|---|
| Live | Chrome's local storage | everyday use |
| Snapshots | versioned history / undo | accidental edits, bad restores |
| On-disk | manual export (free forever) · automatic export (Premium) | uninstall, profile reset, quota overflow |
| Cloud sync | encrypted sync across devices (Premium — coming soon) | moving between machines |
Your data stays on your machine; Premium cloud sync (coming soon) will be end-to-end encrypted. Restore and export are free forever — trial or not.
How TabHarbor compares
Every tab saver eventually loses tabs — that's the one wound across the category. TabHarbor is the one that's local-first and backed up. Coming from OneTab? Your list imports in seconds.

Questions, answered
How is this different from OneTab?
OneTab keeps a single in-browser list that dies with your profile. TabHarbor adds versioned snapshots, on-disk backups to a folder you control, named & coloured groups, and search — and imports your existing OneTab list, so switching costs nothing.
What happens if I uninstall or my profile resets?
Your exported recovery files live on your own disk, outside the extension. Reinstall and restore from a file — nothing is trapped inside the browser.
Is my data private?
TabHarbor is local-first: no account, no server, no telemetry — during the trial and after it. Premium cloud sync (when it ships) is end-to-end encrypted — we can't read it.
Can I get my data out?
Always, for free. Export JSON or a Chrome-compatible bookmark HTML file (byte-matched to Chrome's native export). Restore and export are never paywalled.
What happens when the 14-day trial ends?
Nothing you saved goes away. You keep viewing, searching, restoring, exporting and deleting everything — free, offline, no account, for as long as you like. What pauses is creating new value: saving more tabs, new snapshots, parking, and the automatic backups. Subscribe and it all switches back on.
Do I need a credit card to try it?
No. Install it and the full product runs for 14 days — no card, no sign-up, no auto-charge at the end. When the trial ends we simply stop, and tell you.
Do I need an account?
No — the 14-day trial starts on install with zero sign-up, and viewing, restoring and exporting your data never needs one. An account is only needed to subscribe and for Premium cloud sync across devices.
Which browsers are supported?
Chrome and Chromium browsers (Edge, Brave) via Manifest V3.
